RoHS and WEEE Directives - Statement

Directive 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of the Use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS)

Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE).

Dear Sir or Madam,

the RoHS and the WEEE Directives are part of a series of EC
environment guideline. Both Directives apply only in the European
Union. According to the RoHS directives, as of 1st July 2006, new
electric and electronic equipment introduced into the market and
falling within certain products categories may no longer contain
certain selection of dangerous substances. These are:
  • lead
  • polybromated biphenyl (PBB)
  • mercury
  • polybromated diphenylether (PBDE) flame retardants
  • hexavalent chromium
  • cadmium
However, there are a number of exempted applications for
these substances.

The aim of the WEEE Directives is to encourage and to set criteria
for the collection, treatment, recycling and recovery of waste
electrical and electronic equipments that contain dangerous
substances such as disposed by the law 2002/95/CE.

TEKO has always made every effort in the research of new
technical solutions compatible with low environmental impact.
For this reason, and in order to fulfil the regulations within the
framework of the RoHS and WEEE guidelines, TEKO is no longer
using hazardous substances in its plastic, metal and accesories.

Best regards

TEKO SPA
